“Literacy, Love and Relationships is a 3.0 unit online course for busy, undergraduate English students which incorporates literacy with multi media technology. The course design integrates reading-writing and information technology. Course readings includes topics such as the family, marriage, culture, race, relationships, financial literacy, and identity. Each week questions are submitted which become fodder for discussions. Since students want to learn about love and how to sustain relationships they are motivated; although it is the chemistry that is developed in an online learning environment that keeps students engaged. While students learn to challenge their own beliefs through writing and taking contrary stands they hone their skills of authorship.
Integrated community building exercises allow students to get to know one another. Every course has its own chemistry.
